Management Accountant - Retail

A leading SA retailer is looking to employ a qualified CA with 1-3 years post articles experience for the position of management accountant. The position is open to South African Citizens from an EE background preferably with retail experience. Previous experience in Management Accounting is required.

Main Duties:

• Reconcile monthly financial & management results
• Preparation of the consolidated monthly Management Accounts in line with the reporting      timelines for Board meetings     
• Assist in the finalisation of the month-end close off process
• Preparation of various monthly & quarterly excel spreadsheets required for Board booklet
• Preparation of timetables and guidelines for annual budget and quarterly projection
• Maintain & develop Budgeting & Reporting templates required to facilitate consolidation of budget/projection
• Preparation of consolidated annual budget and quarterly projection booklets in line with the reporting timelines for Board meetings
• SAP fixed assets i.e. processing of centralized transactions, project accounting including      capitalizations, consolidated fixed asset reporting for management accounts
• Preparation of annual financial statements for the smaller individual legal entities for review by our external auditors
• Involvement as required in month-end and year-end general ledger functions (e.g.: calculating & raising accruals etc)     
• Involvement in year-end reporting process as required (including liaison/query resolution with external auditors with regards to management accounts)
• Assist in the implementation of the internal and financial controls
• Identify new Management Reports to meet business requirements
• Relationship building and liaison with various areas on reporting, budget requirements and deadlines etc

Salary guideline:R360 000 to R480 000 depending on experience and retail exposure.
