Business Outcomes:
The incumbent of the position needs to operate both strategically and operationally.
From a strategic perspective, s/he needs to make a contribution at Executive level from a business perspective in line with their specialist skills. The incumbent needs to represent the segment at forums and give input to the strategic direction at Group level. S/he must also implement best-of-breed business focused financial solutions within the organisation.
From an operational perspective, the CFO needs to regulate the work of the central Finance team in a very hands-on fashion.
Key Responsibilities:
This refers to the duties/tasks/ job activities that the individual will need to do in order to meet the key outputs (KRAs) required.
• Take full ownership of the segment from a financial perspective
• Work closely with the Exco in ensuring that strategy is executed in the business, and that optimal strategies are implemented across product areas.
• Ensure that finance governance policies and procedures are in place for the Business Units
• Represent company in various management meetings - Provisioning Committee, Finance Exco etc.
• Work closely with the central Finance teams
• Coordinate and own the financial impact of credit, capital, product development, etc.
• Own the management, statutory and regulatory reporting for the segment
• Coordination of the budget and forecasting for the segment
• Work with the central Finance team, when required.
• Ensuring the implementation of adequate financial controls
• Ensuring the provision of appropriate, business focused accounting information to all Divisional Heads in agreed format
